Well, its not officially summer yet, tha'st about a week or so away, but some have the honour of having such weather all year round while those of us further north (or south!) have to make due with a much shorter season. Make the most of it, guys! Summer's gone all to fast.

slow, easy day

Its been a rather slow, easy day, nothing too strenuous done at all. I slept in until 10 am, then showered and got somewhat dressed. Breakfast was very light, only a couple of blueberry muffins, a banana and some Earl Grey tea! Then it was off to the computer to read emails and stuff.

I haven't heard from Brad for over a month, since early September. This has happened before in the past. After all, I've known him for three years plus. The longest has been three or four months of nothing. Our contact has been pretty steady all year, and recently, its been at least once a week if not more often. Last I heard he was working in a camp and cooked for the guys. He only had access to the computer when the guy working on it was away. Now that summer is over he may not have as much access to it, or any for that matter. Anyway, Brad, if you do get to a computer and read this, check your emails for a surprise! That's all I'll say for now.

We had some sun here this morning with nearly cloudless skies but the daylight hours are fast coming to an end. Its still sunny but 11 degrees Celsius and expected to drop to 5 over night. We're expecting a week of sunshine, so I may be out tomorrow after laundry is done to take some photos of the autumn colour which is well advanced at this point.

Now I'm having some jalapeno and cheese foccacia bread with chicken cold cuts with tea to wash it all down. Then I'll have a nap for a bit before continuing. There's lots to do, just the motivation to do it is lacking! I'll check in later. - V

As I've said previously, summer's soon over here but you can start thinking about where you'll be next summer and what you'll be wearing, that is, unless you can afford to go to a warmer climate during the winter! Dreams are what life is made of. - V

summer's end

Summer's nearly gone here with just days until the official start of autumn. Its been raining through the weekend, pouring rain during the night and even some lightning with thunder. Lightning and thunder aren't often seen in these parts, inland yes, but not so much here. Back east where I lived most of my life (soutwestern Ontario) there was plenty of it in the summer, even in the winter on occasion. So, the weather where swimwear is suitable attire at the beach has fallen behind us. Now its time to wear something warmer! Ah, but all's not lost, there's still warmer places like Hawaii or Cuba perhaps, or where they're just heading into spring, there are such places as Australia and Argentina just to name a few. Get out and buy your ES swimwear but to be sure there are many other labels out there as well.
Now I can just visualize seeing Brad in some hot swimwear, can you? We're planning to head out to Germany early next summer, so we'll certainly need some new swimsuits for the beach on the Baltic Sea. What do you think? Sounds like a plan to me! With the summer heat being what it is here in the northern hemisphere, choose a way to cool off, whether its by the pool, at the beach, on your patio or what ever but do it with a smile! Have a great Sunday, guys!!! - V

Ummmm? Nothing like some personal attentionto warm things up! I hope its warmer where you are, so you can actually wear some speedos or other swimwear without freezing and getting goosebumps in the process. Here in British Columbia's lower mainland its been a bit cooler than normal and the lack of enough sunshine has been an issue but for those on Canada's prairies you'll have a better chance, and even better yet in southern Ontario where the humidex is to reach near 30 degrees Celsius by weekend if not sooner. What ever the conditions, enjoy the Canada Day celebrations Thursday on Canada's 143rd birthday as a nation and be safe as well!!! - V

Barcelona, Spain appears to be a hot centre of activity. Well, summer is upon us and so is the time for wearing minimal clothing, such as when washing a car! I've seen this pic a few times over the last couple of years, so I thought I'd post it for those who may not have seen it. So my immediate thoughts go to what the guy on the right might be thinking as he gazes at his buddy next to him who is wearing only a skimpy swimsuit. One could write a short story about it, couldn't we!
