latest Sci-Fi movie

The film, I Am Number Four, comes out in the theatres next week, February 18 to be exact, and stars Alex Pettyfer, a young English actor born on April 10, 1990.

The movie is a production of Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg through Dreamworks. The project is reported to have cost between $50 and $60 million. The plot is about an alien, human-like species that comes to Earth followed by another race, whose planet has been destroyed, who follows them to this planet. The first three have been killed and the character that Alex plays is number four. I've seen a past film that Alex Pettyfer starred in, Stormbreaker (2006) about spys and MI6 (UK), and found it interesting enough after seeing it in French to get a copy of my own even though its said to have been a flop.

I've long had a great interest in space, space exploration and sci-fi movies since the 1960s and plan to see this one. What about you? - V

What is it about a face, any face, and what attracts our attention to the eyes, the portal to the soul? I've followed Ian Joseph Somerhalder's acting career since he played the bisexual character, Hamilton Fleming, on the WB series, Young Americans, who falls in love with someone he thinks is a guy but actually is a girl. Ian also starred as Paul Denton, also a bisexual character, in the movie The Rules of Attraction. Currently he plays Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries seen on television now. For someone born on December 8, 1978, he's made his mark with a lot of other credits under his belt and certainly worth following. Check him out! - V

Brett Chukerman - actor

Sunday, I also had another look at the DVD of the movie, "Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds." American actor, Brett Chukerman, plays a major part in this movie. Brett was born in August 1981 in the city of Chicago, Illinois who is best known for his roles in gay-themed independent movies. In 2000 he plays the lead role in the short film "Crush." He's also had roles in "Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds" and"The Curiosity of Chance", both from 2006.

Brett started acting at age 18 with MTV's "Underwear", playing Scott in an episode "Three's a Crowd" and at 19 he landed a role in "Dead 7" as Harley, then "Return to Innocence" (2001), "Boys to Men"(2001) and "Crush" (2000). Though he's straight, Brett's played gay roles and believes that's just one aspect of his persona. We'll have to keep an eye on this hottie! - V.

Jon Fleming - actor and model

Yesterday, I just finished watching season 2 of Dante's Cove on DVD. Its the "ultimate guilty pleasure" returning as the back cover of the DVD says. Dante's Cove is a "racy supernatural mystery, a mixture of Melrose Place and Dark Shadows." I've never watched it on tv since I don't have cable, and when I did, I didn't get the channel that would present Dante's Cove and other gay-themed programs. Anyway, I digress. Jon Fleming, a 28 year old American actor born in 1981 in Neenah, Wisconsin has to be one of my favourites, not that there isn't anything wrong with the other guys, there isn't! You'll most always find Jon shirtless with his pants only partly buttoned up. This shows off his muscular physique to great advantage! Have a look for yourself, if you haven't seen Dante's Cove, you're in for a treat. There's plenty of hot, shirtless guys (and with even less) to suit anyone's fancy.

I've seen season 1 and 2 but I can't wait to see season 3 which is out on DVD I believe. Look for Jon who plays the part of Adam on the series.

His television debut started in 2003 when he had a part playing a poolboy hunk in the NBC series "Passions." Jon also played a sexy speedo guy in "Mad TV", a shirtless jogger in "Desperate Housewives", and a mysterious man in "Days of Our Lives." I guess you can see a theme here?!?!

In 2006, Jon got the role of Adam in Dante's Cove. His other credits include a parts in horror films "Camp Daze", "Fat House Massacre" and a guest appearance in "Medium." Taylor Kitsch - actor - model

Yesterday I decided to do some research on a photo that has appeared on at least one blog that I know. The photo turns out to be of actor and model Taylor Kitsch, born in Kelowna, British Columbia on April 8, 1981. His birthday is coming up soon guys, so you might want to wish him a good one! Anyway, you might know him from NBC's Friday Night Lights where he plays the character of Tim Higgins.

Taylor's a really hot-looking guy, well muscled and I love that smile, don't you? Below are a few photos from the latest series he's on, Friday Night Lights! He also had a part in the movie, The Covenant, which I have in my dvd collection.

Taylor is a former Abercrombie and Fitch model but has also appeared in advertisements for Diesel, Clairol, Liz Clairborne and others. He moved to New York in 2002 where he had the opportunity to pursue modeling with IMG and study acting with coach Sheila Gray. Taylor stayed in New York for two years where he also became a certified nutritionist and personal trainer. Then he moved to Los Angeles, California to study acting for eight months. Taylor did print with Nous Model Management and Abercrombie and Fitch. As far as I know from the research I've done, he is currently living in Vancouver, so we're back to near home and right in my backyard! Taylor is certainly an up and coming young Canadian actor worth watching!!! And as far as fitness is concerned, if Taylor and others can work their bodies into perfection, so can you, if thats not enough motivation for you. Meantime, enjoy the pics!

On a lighter note, this is Juan Diego Covarrubias Aceves born on March 24th, 1987 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Juan plays the character of Alex in the webseries from Televisa, "Colinas." The Day the Earth Stood Still: This is a trailor from the 1951 movie from 20th Century Fox directed by Robert Wise. It stars Michael Rennie, Patrcia Neal and Hugh Marlowe. You may recognize Patricia from one of the later spin-offs of the original Star Trek series. I've seen this movie several times, years after it was originally seen in theatres and then on DVD. There is a message here, perhaps several, but the main one is that we had better treat each other with greater respect and kindness than we do or if we expand into outer space with these current attitudes other races may snuff us out in their self-defense, if we haven't made this lovely planet Earth uninhabitable through our greed for money and power beforehand. Chase Crawford

Well, I guess by now many have heard of Chace Crawford and have been following his career as a young American actor. Chase was born July 18, 1985 in Lubbock, Texas (hey Mac, are you following this? He's a fellow Texan!). He appeared in the movie "The Covenant" which I've seen a couple of times on DVD and has also been in the tv drama called "Gossip Girl." Chace looks hot whether dressed scantilly as in the scene from "The Covenant" in the pic above or dressed casually as in the photo below.

I love the photo of him sticking his tongue out. This reminds me of the Maori dance from New Zealand. He's got a nice physique and lovely hands you can see grabbing the football in the pic below.

Chace seems to be going places and its worth watching where his career will take him. What do you think? - Volker
