Salzburg

During the summer of 1972 I made a seven week visit to Europe. Salzburg, Austria was just one of many destinations during that trip. Above is a view of the castle above the old town. The city and area was used as a setting for the filming of the 1960s movie called "The Sound of Music" starring Julie Andrews as Maria von Trapp and Christopher Plummer as the Baron von Trapp. The film was based upon a true story but the actual events shown in the movie turned out quite different.
