been offline

My old laptop died toward the end of April, so Ive been offline until recently while getting things organized using a new notebook.  That has meant going through over a thousand emails in one account alone.  There are some in others but not anywhere as many.

The new machine has a dual language keyboard (English-French), so I am getting used to that.

Computer issues

Well, its been warm in the apartment the last few days, warm enough to cause the laptop to shut down unexpectedly. The computer shut down twice last evening, the last time being close to 9:30 pm. I did manage to download some new photos taken over the past weekend. That was done the previous evening when the apartment as cooler. Perhaps the fan is nolonger as efficient as it was when the machine was new but I hope to sort it out soon. Meantime, the laptop works perfectly well when the apartment is cooler. I hope to get a new fan Friday evening with the hopes this will help (increased air flow). I will keep you all posted, including Brad. - Volker

No six-pack but no beer gut either

Well, you know what a well-defined 19 year old looks like (abs and six-pack from yesterday), and you have some idea what Brad looks like as a result but here is a video of me at the computer (laptop) during an msn chat with a friend in North Carolina. I don't have a six-pack or well developed abs but I don't have a beer gut or grey hair either. Now those of you that don't know my age, can you guess how old I am just by looking at the video clip?
