lunch

Well, there are times when the best laid plans go wrong and yesterday was one of those days. The client where I work at my full-time job invited those of us at the front desk to a Christmas lunch. My supervisor's relief person arrived but mine didn't. In fact the latter person was late by over an hour which delayed my departure to the lunch. When I did arrive, some people were just leaving and others were having their dessert. I had ordered my lunch via cell phone and later asked that it be wrapped, so I could take it home. When I did arrive, I had an Earl Grey tea and some yam fries that included a dipping sauce with the hint of lemon.

I had the spicy Bombay Butter Chicken when I returned home. That lunch included roasted almond basmati rice, grilled naan bread and lentil papadum. I just loved it and plan to have this again sometime soon.

Meantime, I was not happy the way things turned out and neither was the client. There is a remedy planned but I don't know when. Despite the setback I did the best under the situation. I hope you can maintain some dignity and poise under such circumstances. Have a good night, guys!

Christmas lunch

Work concluded at 1 pm for us. We were off to the Hotel Vancouver for a department Christmas lunch. It was a buffet, so there was plenty of food to choose from. I was stuffed afterwards, returned to work to pick up my things and then return home. After reading the papers, emails and such (no supper as I was more than full), I got to loading the few photos I too at the event and resize them before posting one of them. The scene of the reindeer and the pointsettia plant is at the salad bar (just above it). Now its time for bed! I'm more than just a little sleepy!!! - V.

Christmas lunch

The work day went rather routine just like any other day except today was the Christmas lunch held by the client's facility department at a venue in Vancouver. We all had a salad to start. Mine was a mixed salad with escarole, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and dressing. Then came the main course, salmon on mixed rice with asparagus and snowpeas. Others had turkey, mashed potatoes and such, so there were options. Desert was fudge brownies in my case. I just had water but others had beer and other drinks, but since I was returning to work after the lunch, it wouldn't have been good form to return under the influence.
So, what has been happening your way as Christmas approaches? More news and photos to come as we get closer! By the way, the tree was outside the room where the lunch was being served and the snow was falling nicely the whole time. Merry Christmas!!!
