Christmas wish

What I'd most like for Christmas is to have my favourite friend (Brad) with me even if its a short while.  I know things are a challenge at the moment for him to do so but I'm always hoping for the best and keeping my thoughts on the positive.  My cell phone is always with me, even at night.  Regardless, I hope you have your dreams fulfilled.  Have a wonderful Christmas! - V

Have a merry jolly holiday season. Mine is very quiet so far, exactly the way I like it. I do have the Christmas spirit but it has nothing to do with the commercial Christmas that society tries to shove down our throats.

I decorate moderatly trying to create a feeling of warmth and intimacy. For Christmas day dinner tonight, mom and I light up close to 100 candles all over the house. It is simply magical!

Hugs

Thanks Ian, M@rvin and Jon. I wish the same for you and everyone.

The season has became far too commercialized as the decades pass. Today the pope advised the faithful not to get too involved in this commercialism. Unfortunately, even the churches are into this "commercialism" so its hypocritical to say the least but that's all I have to say about that subject.

Today being Sunday I'll start the afternoon doing laundry and then starting supper, duck leg in cabbage with potatoes. Its based on a German recipe called "Gaenseschenkel mit Schmorrkohl" which I've been cooking up for some years (I've had the recipe since the 1980s). Since goose legs are hard to come by unless a whole goose is purchased, I've opted to use duck legs instead. I'll post more on that later.

Merry Christmas!
