I'm in the midst of another gout attack (left ankle). Luckily they're infrequent! I can barely walk across the apartment, so don't see myself being able to make it to the bus stop. With that said, I had to book off work. Its getting to and from that is the issue. Last night I read the papers, had a light supper and went to bed. I couldn't focus on anything else. I hope your day is better! - V
I had to take the day off work on Tuesday and will be off again on Wednesday. During the day it was tough get to the bathroom which is only about ten feet from my bed.
The swelling is there and so is the pain but it is less than it was this morning when it was enough of a chore to get across the apartment let alone try to walk to the bus stop.
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I've had several attacks in the last ten years. There must be a genetic component to this because one of my father's was plagued by it for the last half of his life. There's a long story to that but I'll leave that for another time.
Thanks, Peter! I try to take the natural route without the medication and avoid the foods (and drink) that will cause the symptoms to flare up. There was a medication I was taking occasionally back east (southwestern Ontario) but the name of it escapes me for the moment (starts with a "c"). The one the doctors prescribed here caused me to burp a lot which the other one didn't. It'll eventually come back to mind only when I need it most: when the symptoms are severe! - V

Thanks for the *hugs* which are much appreciated.
Indocin (Indomethecin) works for me and after 2 doses of 50mg the pain is almost gone. 4 doses and forget you had it!
